What’s the same?

All health professionals are expected to maintain a record of every contact or professional encounter with each patient. These attendance records can be kept separate from the patient record but should be retrievable for each individual patient.

What’s different?

Massage therapists and chiropractors are expected to specifically maintain daily appointment records.

Daily appointment records for massage therapists need to include the name of the client whom the practitioner examines, treats or renders any service to and the time of the appointment.

In Practice

Chiropractor Rakesh and massage therapist Sara are required by their Colleges to keep daily appointment records. The group has decided that it’s best that they all work with the same type of records, and keep records of patient/client name and appointment time. It’s not a problem for the others as they already keep records for scheduling purposes.
